Amish Christmas Emergency by Dana R Lynn - Review of the fifth book in the Amish Country Justice series

BACK  OF  THE  BOOK  BLURB

There's nowhere to hide from a deadly stalker ...
Can Amish Country Justice save her?

The peaceful Amish community seems like the perfect refuge for nurse Alexa Grant--until her stalker returns. And when menacing gifts and threats turn into attempts on her life, she knows she'll never be safe without the help of police officer Gavin Jackson. Yet Gavin's growing closeness to Alexa enrages the stalker, who is determined to cancel Christmas for them...permanently.

MY  REVIEW
I hope this is not the final book in the series, but I have looked and don't see anymore coming in the near future. At one point I could not read fast enough! I have loved this series since the first book, such suspense and action, then you add the faith, caring and love, there you have it. Really good writing by Dana, she keeps you wanting more!

Amish Country Ambush by Dana R Lynn - Review of the fourth book in the Amish Country Justice series

BACK  OF  THE  BLURB

After police dispatcher Elise St. Clair's home is invaded by her murderous brother-in-law, her nephew is hidden in Amish Country by her cleaning lady. Now relying on police officer Ryan Parker is Elise's only hope of reuniting with the child...and evading the killer. And Elise and Ryan quickly discover their temporary partnership has long-term potential--if they can stay alive.

MY  REVIEW
How would you handle it if you were working as a 9-1-1 operator and the call came in from your house stating that your babysitter is dead and there is still someone in the house? I don't think I would do very well, Elise has lived through a lot and it has just gotten worse. A lot of action and suspense, just how many people do want her dead? Yep, you better grab your copy. This is a series that I think you could read out of order and it wouldn't ruin the prior books, just little hints here and there of the previous books. A good book, a good series!

Amish Refuge by Debby Giusti - Review of the first book in the Amish Protectors series

BACK  OF  THE  BOOK  BLURB

HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT

Miriam Miller barely escapes the ruthless attacker that killed her mother and kidnapped her sister. Running deeper into the woods, she's running out of hope...until she falls into the arms of an unlikely bodyguard--a peaceful Amish farmer. Something about Abram Zook inspires her trust, but even in bucolic Willkommen, Georgia, Miriam faces danger. Both from the men pursuing her and from her growing feelings for the caring--though guarded--widower who protects her. Because if she falls for Abram she'll have to embrace his Amish faith as her own--or lose him. With each minute, her abductor creeps closer, pushing Miriam to an inevitable choice; stay and risk her heart...or leave and risk her life.

MY  REVIEW
A woman with a mind of her own and the stubbornness to do what she thinks best regardless of what she's told. BUT, is it in her best interest not to listen?!?!?!?! An engaging story that will keep you reading until the end. I really enjoy Debby's books and this is one of the reasons why.

Seven great authors, seven great stories, it all makes for some great reading. So many different scenarios all taking place at the same time. Totally highly recommended by me.

Home on Huckleberry Hill by Jennifer Beckstrand - Review of the ninth book in the Matchmakers of Huckleberry Hill

BACK  OF  THE  BOOK  BLURB

Huckleberry Hill, Wisconsin's irrepressible
eighty-something matchmakers Anna and Felty Helmuth
are at it again. And this time they're willing to rough it to
get the job done...

Mary Anne Neuenschwander knows she should be content with what Gotte has given her. She has a comfortable house, a fruitful farm, and a good, steady husband. But after nearly six years of marriage, she still longs for a baby. Yet her husband, Jethro, seems to care more about fishing than about his wife. Unable to bear Jethro's indifference, Mary Anne moves into a tent in the woods where he won't have to be bothered. But when her mammi and dawdi find out what she's done, they'll stop at nothing--including a little camping trip of their own--to help save their granddaughter's marriage...

Jethro's greatest blessing is his beloved wife, Mary Anne. Nothing else in his life has turned out anywhere near the way he expected. Rather than burden Mary Anne with his disappointment, he shields her by spending less and less time at home and more time on the river. But when he finds that she's moved out, he's shocked. What will people think? What is Mary Anne thinking? And what clever plans are her grandparents hatching?...

MY  REVIEW
OH MY GOODNESS!!! I absolutely LOVE this series and Jennifer never fails to make me laugh and cry, giggle and shed some more tears. I love Anna and Felty and what they won't do for their family, but this story is one of the best I think. I don't think anyone would be disappointed in this book, or this series. I 'HIGHLY' recommend this book and this series as 'MUST READS'.

A Seat by the Hearth by Amp Clipston - Review of the third book in an Amish Homestead series

BACK  OF  THE  BOOK  BLURB

Priscilla Allgyer knows she cannot leave the past behind,
But can love lead her toward the promise of healing?

Priscilla Allgyer left the community to escape the expectations of Amish life. Now, years later, she is forced to return--along with her six-year-old son--to the place she thought she'd left behind forever. Though once estranged from her family, Priscilla is welcomed by her mother, but her father is cold and strict. He allows Priscilla to stay with them provided she dresses plainly, confesses her sins, and agrees to marry within the community. Once again, she feels suffocated, trapped, and alone.

As Priscilla reluctantly completes her shunning, she catches the eye of Mark Riehl, a farmer with a playboy reputation. Wary of Mark, Priscilla barely gives him the time of day--while Mark, unused to being ignored by the women of Bird-in-Hand, won't give up the pursuit of her friendship. Priscilla desperately needs a friend in Mark, even if she doesn't realize it--and after Priscilla's father and the bishop catch her and Mark in a compromising situation, their relationship becomes more complicated than ever.

As affection quietly grows between them, Priscilla struggles to open her heart and reveal the painful secrets of her past. As Mark works to earn her good faith, can they both learn the hard lessons of love and trust? And can two friends discover a happiness that only God himself could have designed? The third book in teh Amish Homestead series, A Seat by the Hearth invites us back to the Lancaster community where friendships are forged and love overcomes all.

MY  REVIEW
This was a wonderful story, I read it in one day, which is fast for me considering the book was over 300 pages. A lot of different abuse in the story, can it be overcome through love and faith, can it be forgiven, you'll have to read to find out. I guess I missed out on the first two books in the series so I have to go back and catch up. From the blurbs on the first two books, it would be better to read the series in order.

I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggers; book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

MY  REVIEW
At first I was wondering if I'd enjoy this book BUT it didn't take long at all and I was deep into the story and loving it. If you don't find this story reinforcing your faith, maybe you need to read it again. Vannetta does a wonderful job on this and I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.
