Amish Protector by Marta Perry - Review of the second book in the River Haven series
In River Haven, a mysterious visitor brings two lonely hearts together...
Joanna Kohler treasures the independence her Amish quilt shop provides. She rarely leans on others, yet finding an injured woman on her property makes her grateful for the store owner next door, Noah Troyer. Calm and unflappable, Noah offers support. He also points out the strong resemblance between Joanna and the unconscious stranger...
Noah may admire Joanna, but the bishop's daughter is out of reach. Though he's made a good life, Noah still feels shadowed by the shame his father brought on the community. But it's his duty to aid his lovely neighbor, especially when danger draws close. As he and Joanna unearth answers about her past, Noah will have to confront his own if he's to have a chance at building a future with the woman he'll love forever.
MY REVIEW
OH MY GOODNESS! The things this attacker does to an innocent woman, but is it the right woman, and why? You will not be able to put this book down! Yes, yet another must read from Marta Perry. I am anxiously waiting for the third book, "Amish Secrets" to come out next month.

MY REVIEW
WOW, just WOW!! The prologue was intriguing, then the story began. I was confused for a short time but soon figured it out and the author pulled me in slowly, then a little faster, faster, and the last few chapters I could not put the book down until I finished it.
I have enjoyed Colleen Coble's books since I happened upon one several years ago and she has not disappointed me yet. This is a must read and I am anxiously waiting to read the second one in the series to see where things go from here.

Marshmallow Malice by Amanda Flower - Review of the fifth book in An Amish Candy Shop Mystery series
BACK OF THE BOOK BLURB
Caught in a sticky situation . . .

Except midsummer heat waves and outdoor ceremonies don't mix, and an exasperated Bailey soon finds herself struggling to fulfill bridesmaid duties and keep her stunning marshmallow-frosted wedding cake from becoming a gooey disaster. Then much to everyone's shock, the entire ceremony crumbles when a guest drops dead, and the cause isn't sunstroke . .
Turns out, the uninvited victim came equipped with lots of dirt on the devout reverend's hidden past. As Reverend Brook tops the murder suspect list on what should have been the happiest day of his life, Bailey and her sheriff's deputy boyfriend vow to clear his name. Can the duo boil down a series of baffling clues before Juliet considers her marriage a bad mistake---or the killer whips up another deadly surprise?
MY REVIEW
Another great cozy from Amanda! This one keeps you on your toes, trying to keep everyone's 'secret' straight isn't as hard as it sounds, but is everyone telling Bailey their 'secret' telling the full story, and are some connected in ways you'd never think? Better grab a copy and get started on figuring this one out.
Oh, and do NOT read if you are hungry! The treats in this story sound absolutely YUMMY!!

Enterprising and hardworking, Tony Campanelli embraces life in the small community of Pendleton with his sister and their friends, especially since Ilsa Thorsen moves to town. The uptight seamstress just needs to learn to have some fun and Tony's convinced he's the man for the job.

Courtships and Carriages by Janet Syas Nitsick - Review of the first book in the Great Plains series
Her decision could be an easy one if only her dear-childhood friend, Russ Knudson, a kindhearted, humble man, a man who works with his hands -- a farmer -- was not also vying for her hand. He may not be as refined as Nolan, but his feelings were just as sincere and Gwen's love for him ran deep. And, if only Nolan was not the son of the corrupt mayor and her father, the publisher of a local paper, was not investigating that corruption.
The answer is in her court in Courtships and Carriages which includes intrigue and suspense when a trunk full of mayoral electoral ballots comes up missing.

Searching for You by Jody Hedlund - Review of the third book in the Orphan Train series
For years, Sophie Neumann has been running from the orphanages of 1850's New York City. Tasked with caring for two younger children, she's determined not to let them be taken from her, and not to abandon them the same way her older sisters did her. But times are growing desperate, and when she falls in with the wrong crowd and witnesses a crime, she realizes fleeing the state is her only option.
Disappearing with her two young charges into a group of orphans heading west by train, Sophie hopes to find safety and a happy life. But when the train stops in Illinois, she faces an agonizing decision as the orphans will be placed in new homes. Afraid she'll lose them forever, she finds help in a familiar face she never expected to see so far from New York.
Reinhold Weiss has finally purchased his own small farm in Illinois. With mounting debts, a harvest to bring in, and past scars that still haunt him, Reinhold is in no position to give his heart away . . . but can he say no when his long-lost friend shows up on a nearby farm pleading for his help?
I don't know WHY I let so much time pass between the reading of each one of the books in this series! What a finish to the Neumann family story, Sophie being the youngest may have struggled the most but had the strongest will. This is a series that you must read in order, oh and there is a short prequell, about half the length of each of the three books in the series, out there, "An Awakened Heart". It is only available on the Kindle or Audible, I just checked and right now they are both FREE if you are interested in reading that. I would highly recommend this series!!

The Farmer's Bride by Kathleen Fuller - Review of the second book in the Amish Brides of Birch Creek series
Martha Detweiler has a problem many Amish women her age would envy: she's the only single woman in a community of young men, and they're all competing for her favor. Overwhelmed by the unwanted attention, Martha finds herself constantly fleeing from her would-be suitors, dismayed at what her life has come to.
Birch Creek's resident matchmaker, Cevilla Schlabach, suggests a solution: Martha and the bishop's son, Seth Yoder, should pretend they are dating. What better way to keep the other young men away?
But Seth is the only man around not interested in Martha. He has a secret hobby that keeps him away from social gatherings: woodcarving. Having grown up in poverty,he's determined to keep his father's farm successful, even if it means he has no time for dating. Then Delilah Stoll, a new resident of Birch Creek, eyes Seth as the perfect man for her granddaughter. Suddenly Cevilla's proposition doesn't seem all that ludicrous. Can Seth and Martha convince their family and friends to leave them alone?
The second book in bestselling author Kathleen Fuller's Amish Brides of Birch Creek series, The Farmer's Bride celebrates the unexpected power of love and the joy of discovering God's calling.

Andrew by Jennifer Beckstrand - Review of the first book in The Petersheim Brothers series
Handsome, hardworking, and godly, Andrew Petersheim has always been sure of his place in his Wisconsin Amish community. He'll be a welcome catch for the local girl show finally captures his heart. Mary Coblenz certainly isn't that girl. Two years after "jumping the fence" for the Englischer world, she's returned, unmarried and pregnant, Yet instead of hiding in shame as others in the community expect, she's working at the Honeybee Farm, ignoring the gossips--and winning over Andrew's eight-year-old twin brothers . . .
For all Andrew's certainty about right and wrong, it seems he has a lot to learn from Mary's courage, grace, and resilience. She's changing his notions about forgiveness and love, but will she in turn accept the challenge of starting over and choose to stay---with him?
I am quickly moving on to read "Abraham" as I got the first two books in this series for Christmas. "Andrew" will not be out until June, JUNE, I have to wait until JUNE to finish the series!!
Very highly recommended and a must read!
