The Amish Wanderer by Laura V Hilton - Review

BACK  OF  THE  BOOK  BLURB

Desperate for a Ticket Out
Bethany Weiss is ready to leave town. Tongues haven't stopped clacking in Jamesport, MO since her daed, the bishop, was admitted to a mental hospital after hurting their small Amish community. But her sharpest wounds Bethany hides from prying eyes, quietly biding her time until she can take a chance at a new life--away from Jamesport and away from God.

Searching for a Home
Silas Beiler was kicked out of his own family's home. Dogged by a rough childhood and a family who blames him for each new disaster, he begins hitchhiking across the country, sleeping in barns where he can, working for food when possible--headed for Pennsylvania, in the hope of some stability.

A Memory of Lemonade
When Bethany spies a man asleep in the hayloft, she first fears the return of an unwelcome suitor. But when it is Silas who turns and speaks, the memories flood back: a happy summer six years ago full of lemonade, long wals, and budding courtship. Now, however, those months of bliss seem naive and idyllic. Will their old love overcome ew pain? Or will hurt and rejection continue to haunt their path?

MY  REVIEW
This turned out to be a very interesting story about two Amish families and what we, as 'Englischers' would think is rare in the Amish community. It took me a while to really get into the story BUT it was not the book, it was what I had to deal with in my own life during this time. Once I was able to really take a little time to read, without falling asleep, lol, I didn't want to put it down. Thank you Laura for another winning story.

The Lone Star Romance Collection by Cathy Marie Hake & Kimberley Comeaux

BACK  OF  THE  BOOK  BLURB
(copied from Amazon.com)
Enjoy two series of romances under one cover from authors Kimberley Comeaux and Cathy Marie Hake. First head to Springton, Texas, where two Texas belles--a pretty outcast and a shy nurse--find rattlesnakes easier to lasso than the hearts of the men they desire. Then join the Gregor brothers from Scotland--doctor, cobbler, lawman--as they settle in the Wild West, seeking wives to help them live out a legacy of faith that their father rooted in them. Watch as God's love unfolds a grand design into each life.

MY  REVIEW
Five very good stories. These authors did not fail to keep me interested in the lives of these characters. Great stories about faith and how each one handles hardships that are dealt to them. Grab a copy and enjoy!

I received a e-copy of this book from NetGalley.com to review. I have given my honest opinion of this book.

Pearl has no hopes for romantic love again. She's getting on in years and assumes she'll remain a widow the rest of her days. But then Hubert comes to town. Just when he's convinced Pearl to dream again, his estranged son arrives. Will the son's anger and scorn undo Hubert's and Pearl's plans?

Tillie knows Everett has healed physically from his disfiguring scars sustained in a fire, but he has a long way to go in healing emotionally. As their friendship grows into something more, does Tillie dare hope for love with Everett? How can she convince him his scars represent something beautiful to her?
