Now, more than a year later, someone is reminding the Amish widow that all hasn't been forgiven. But Rebecca isn't about to pay for the sins of someone else's past. So when the threats escalate and her rebellious stepson starts keeping secrets, Rebecca turns to former army ranger Jake Burke for help. She knows the Englisher is an honorable man, but being around him rattles her traditional community. Before long, Rebecca senses Jake is the only person she can trust with her safety...and wit her fragile heat.

MY  REVIEW
For me, I had a hard time getting into this book, I think because there was talk about drugs. I know it is a part of our lives and we all have, or know, someone close that has a problem with them. Putting that aside I kept reading and was soon interested in what the ending would be. A good read and the mystery is there!

MY  REVIEW
I found all three of these stories very enjoyable and with a twist from the normal Amish stories. When I picked this set to read I had not read anything by any of the authors, I love it when I find new authors to follow. I can say that I would recommend this set of books to those that enjoy reading Amish stories.

Plain Pursuit by Alison Stone - Review

BACK  OF  THE  BOOK  BLURB
When her brother is killed in a small Amish town, Anna Quinn discovers she's an unwelcome outsider. But the FBI agent investigating the case is right at home--because Eli Miller was born and raised in Apple Creek's Plain community. Eli left his Amish faith behind long ago, but his heart is rooted in a local cold case he can't forget--a mystery with strange connections to Anna's loss. Desperate to uncover the truth, Anna and Eli are faced with stony silences and secrets...secrets that someone wants to keep buried in the past.

MY  REVIEW
What a heart wrenching story Alison is telling here. The things a brother will put himself through for a sister are visible here. By the end, I was getting more and more anxious, and in more fear for Anna, that I wasn't able to put the book down until I found out what happened. Oh yes, a must read for mystery and/or Amish readers.

MY  REVIEW
Jenny is a new author, not only for me but I think this is her first book as I can't find anything else she's written. With that being said, I was really impressed with this book. It was a good mystery with a lot of twists, turns and secrets. I do hope to see some more books written by her. My only problem, and I don't blame this all on the author, are the errors you have to overlook. Like misspellings, added words, etc. This is not the only e-book I've had this problem with so I am blaming it on the auto-correct as far as spelling and grammar go. The story was great though!

Corsets and Cuffs by Shanna Hatfield - Review of the third book in the Baker City Brides series

BACK  OF  THE  BOOK  BLURB
(copied from Amazon.com)

Sheriff Tully Barrett never knew trouble had such a pretty face.
Brianna Dumont never knew the law could be so handsome and hardheaded.
Pampered and privileged, Brianna Dumont escapes the life she's always known in an effort to clear her father's good name. She arrives in Baker City, Oregon, intent on selling her father's shares in a mine. Only the mine is a bust, her father's partner is a crusty ol' coot who hates women, and the sheriff in town is determined to keep her behind bars.

With good friends around him, a small ranch of his own, and a fulfilling job as sheriff, Tully Barrett loves his life. Then an exasperating woman shows up, making demands and driving him crazy. No matter how hard he tries to ignore her brains and beauty, she works her way under his skin.

Corsets and Cuffs captures the fun-loving banter of two strong-willed characters determined not to fall in love in this sweet historical romance.

MY  REVIEW
Oh my get out the tissues! I was laughing so hard at one point the tears were gathering in my eyes and I had a hard time reading what "Fred" did. Oh, and then waiting for the Sheriff to find out, hahaha. I know I say this each time but I love Shanna's books, this is the funniest one so far I think. There is not much more to be said than if you have not read any of her books, PLEASE, keep her in mind when you are looking for a new author. I have enjoyed every one of her books that I've read so far and plan to read many more.
